Cookies Policy

This policy explains what cookies are, how CyberWise Learning Institute uses them on this website, the types of cookies we use, and how you can manage your cookie preferences.

Last Updated: February 18, 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, tablet, or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used by website operators to make websites work more efficiently, to provide a better browsing experience, and to supply certain information to the site owners.

Cookies can be "first-party cookies" (set by the website you are visiting) or "third-party cookies" (set by a domain other than the one you are visiting). Cookies may remain on your device for different periods of time. "Session cookies" exist only while your browser is open and are deleted automatically once you close your browser. "Persistent cookies" survive after your browser is closed and can be used to recognize your device when you reopen the website.

This website, operated by CyberWise Learning Institute B.V., uses cookies and similar technologies as described below. By understanding how we use cookies, you can make informed decisions about your preferences when visiting our site.

2. How We Use Cookies

CyberWise Learning Institute uses cookies for several purposes. These include enabling core website functionality, understanding how visitors interact with our site, remembering your preferences, and, where you have provided consent, supporting our advertising and marketing activities.

We do not use cookies to collect sensitive personal data such as passwords, financial credentials, health information, or government identification numbers. We do not use cookies to identify you personally unless you have voluntarily submitted information through our contact forms.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

3.1 Essential Cookies

Purpose: Essential cookies are necessary for the core functionality of this website. They enable basic features such as page navigation, access to secure areas, session management, and security protections. Without these cookies, the website cannot function properly.

Examples:

  • session_id — maintains your browsing session while you navigate the site
  • csrf_token — protects against cross-site request forgery attacks
  • cookie_consent_status — stores your cookie consent preferences

Consent required: No. Essential cookies are activated automatically because they are required for the website to operate. You cannot opt out of essential cookies while using this website.

Retention: Session duration, or up to 12 months for preference storage (such as your cookie consent choice).

3.2 Analytics Cookies

Purpose: Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with this website. They collect information about which pages are visited, how long visitors spend on the site, what links are clicked, and whether visitors encounter any errors. This information is aggregated and used to improve the website experience.

Tools: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for website analytics.

Examples:

  • _ga — distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated number
  • _ga_XXXXXXX — used by Google Analytics 4 to maintain session state
  • _gid — distinguishes unique users for a 24-hour period
  • _gat — used to throttle request rate to Google Analytics

Consent required: Yes. Analytics cookies are activated only after you accept them through the cookie consent banner or the manage preferences panel.

Retention: Up to 14 months.

IP Anonymization: IP anonymization is enabled in our Google Analytics 4 configuration. Your full IP address is not stored.

Opt-out: In addition to managing your preferences through our cookie banner, you may install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

3.3 Marketing and Advertising Cookies

Purpose: Marketing cookies are used to deliver advertisements that are relevant to your interests. They are also used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, limit the number of times you see a particular advertisement, and help us understand whether users take certain actions after clicking on an ad (conversion tracking).

Consent required: Yes. Marketing and advertising cookies are activated only after you explicitly accept them through the cookie consent banner or manage preferences panel.

Retention: Up to 540 days (Google Ads default retention period).

Third-party ad serving: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to this website and other sites on the internet.

Advertising partners: We may work with advertising partners such as Google and Meta to deliver advertisements tailored to your interests across various websites and platforms.

Remarketing: We may use remarketing services to advertise to previous visitors of our website. After visiting our site, you may see our ads on other websites, apps, or platforms you visit.

YouTube and Display Network: Advertisements may appear across Google services including YouTube, Gmail, and the Google Display Network.

Tracking technologies: We use the following tracking technologies on this website:

  • Cookies (first-party and third-party)
  • Tracking pixels (Google Ads tag / gtag.js, Meta Pixel)
  • Device identifiers (browser fingerprint, IP address)
  • Conversion event tags

Advertising measurement: We use conversion tracking to understand which advertisements lead to actions on our website, such as form submissions or contact requests. This allows us to measure campaign effectiveness and allocate budget appropriately. Conversion data may be shared with Google Ads and Meta.

Technologies in use: Advertising and analytics technologies active on this site:

  • Google Ads (gtag.js / Google Tag Manager)
  • Google Analytics 4
  • Google Remarketing Tag
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook / Instagram)

4. Your Cookie Consent Choices

When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner appears at the bottom of the page. The banner provides three options:

  • Accept All: This activates essential, analytics, and marketing cookies. By choosing this option, you consent to all cookie categories described in this policy.
  • Reject Non-Essential: This activates only essential cookies. Analytics and marketing cookies will not be placed on your device.
  • Manage Preferences: This opens a preferences panel where you can individually enable or disable analytics cookies and marketing cookies. Essential cookies remain always active.

Your consent choice is stored in your browser's local storage for 12 months. After this period, the cookie consent banner will reappear. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Manage cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page on this website.

If you dismiss the cookie banner without making a selection, only essential cookies will be active. Analytics and marketing cookies will not be activated until you provide explicit consent.

Change Your Cookie Preferences

You can update your cookie settings at any time using the button below or via the link in the website footer.

5. How to Control Cookies Through Your Browser

In addition to the consent controls provided on this website, you can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies from websites. Please note that if you block essential cookies, the website may not function correctly.

Below are links to instructions for managing cookies in commonly used browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies

If you use a different browser, please consult that browser's help documentation for instructions on managing cookies.

Please be aware that clearing or blocking cookies may affect your browsing experience on this website and on other websites. Some features may not work as intended if cookies are disabled.

6. Opting Out of Personalized Advertising

You may opt out of personalized advertising at any time through the following resources:

Opting out does not remove ads entirely. You will continue to see non-personalized advertisements. Opting out means that the ads you see will be less tailored to your browsing history and interests.

7. Google Services Cookies

This website uses the following Google services, each of which may place cookies on your device:

  • Google Analytics 4: Collects anonymized usage data, device information, and behavioral signals. IP anonymization is enabled. Data retention is set to 14 months.
  • Google Ads Conversion Tracking: Records when a user completes a defined action (such as submitting a contact form) after clicking one of our ads. This data is used solely for measuring ad campaign performance.
  • Google Remarketing: Allows us to show ads to previous visitors across Google's advertising network. Remarketing lists are not created from sensitive data categories.
  • Google Tag Manager: Deploys tracking tags on our behalf. No personal data is collected by Google Tag Manager itself; it acts as a container for the tags listed above.

Google's advertising products are governed by Google's privacy and advertising policies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

8. Meta Pixel Cookies

This website uses the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. The pixel may record:

  • Page views and time on site
  • Specific conversion events (such as form submissions)
  • Custom audience membership for retargeting purposes

We do not use the Meta Pixel to collect sensitive personal data, nor to target users based on health status, financial situation, religion, political views, sexual orientation, or any other special-category attribute prohibited under Meta's advertising policies.

Meta acts as an independent data controller for data collected via its Pixel and processed within its own platform. Refer to Meta's Data Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy

9. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites you visit indicating that you do not want to be tracked. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. As a result, this website does not currently respond to DNT signals. However, you can manage your cookie preferences using the tools and controls described in this policy.

10. Third-Party Cookies and External Links

This website may contain links to third-party websites. These external sites have their own cookie policies, and CyberWise Learning Institute is not responsible for the cookies or tracking practices used by those websites. We encourage you to read the cookie policies of any external websites you visit.

We do not embed hidden third-party tracking scripts on this website beyond those explicitly listed in this policy (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, and Meta Pixel). No suspicious or undisclosed tracking scripts are used.

11. Cookies and GDPR Compliance

CyberWise Learning Institute B.V. is registered in the Netherlands and operates under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet). Under these regulations:

  • Essential cookies may be placed without consent because they are strictly necessary for the website to function.

  • Consent is recorded with a timestamp and may be audited upon request.
  • Users may withdraw consent at any time without any negative consequence to their ability to use the website.

If significant changes are made, we will notify visitors through a banner on the homepage at least 14 days before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
